Khal Drogo - Bernese Mountain Dog

Background

Who would imagine that their young puppy would be diagnosed with one orthopedic issue, let alone multiple orthopedic problems. Unfortunately, that was the case for Debbie B. when her pup, Khal Drogo, started limping at 10 months old.

Background

"My husband surprised our family with a new Bernese Mountain Dog male puppy. We named our new baby Khal Drogo. After much research online, we purchased Embrace knowing that Bernese Mountain Dogs can suffer from cancer as well as hip dysplasia and other orthopedic problems and the insurance policy appeared to cover such ailments.

When Drogo was about 10 months old, we noticed a slight limp. After a few trips to the vet and some x-rays, Drogo was diagnosed with an ACL tear plus suspected bilateral cranial cruciate ligament disease and hip dysplasia. We took Drogo to the orthopedic surgeon and were advised that we needed to fix his left knee's ACL tear first since this issue was causing him the most pain. We didn't think we would need Embrace so early in Drogo's life, but I have been extremely satisfied with Embrace's customer service. Embrace was quick to reimburse us and that let us concentrate on making sure Drogo has a speedy, happy recovery."
