While the cuddles may be great, they aren't the only #PawsitiveEffects your animal can have on your life. Your pets can benefit your mental health by decreasing anxiety and reducing stress — so those cuddles pack more of a punch than you think! Tell us the special ways your pets help your mental health by using the hashtag #PawsitiveEffects on your Twitter, Instagram, or directly to Embrace's Facebook page. For each use of the hashtag, Embrace will donate $5 to the Good Dog Foundation — with the goal of raising $5,000 during the month of May.
The Good Dog Foundation
The Good Dog Foundation trains volunteers and professionals to team up with their dog to help people heal from the trauma of disease, to facilitate learning, and to cope with disability. Founded in 1998, they provide 30,000 hour-long therapy dog visits a year, working with 300 hospitals, schools, nursing homes and community organizations in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
