Smooth Renewals
No need to worry about lapses in coverage or conditions becoming pre-existing. Your policy renews automatically, keeping your pets covered as long as your premium is paid.
Before Your Policy Renews
Two to four weeks before your policy renews you will receive the following via e-mail:
- A renewal quote that shows your renewal premium
- A copy of the Embrace terms & conditions for your renewal policy
The Day Your Policy Renews
On the day that your policy renews you will receive via e-mail:
- A new and revised Certificate of Insurance
- A copy of the Embrace terms & conditions for your renewal policy
- A new pre-filled Embrace Claim Form
At renewal, your policy annual maximum and deductible re-set, which means your annual maximum starts fresh and your annual deductible applies once again.
You have 60 days from the renewal date to submit claims from the prior term.
What Embrace Won't Do at Renewal
Embrace will not:
- Increase your premium because you claimed
- Drop or decrease your pet's coverage at a certain age
Premium Changes at Renewal
There are three main reasons for premium increases:
- Your pet getting older
Just as us humans tend to get sick more frequently as we age, so do our pets. Dogs and cats tend to need more frequent and costly veterinary care as they get older, and that means higher pet insurance premiums over time.
- Increases in veterinary costs
Adequate premium is necessary to pay veterinary bills that are now higher due to inflation and other factors. Inflation causes your premium to rise each year but, very importantly, it also means you continue to receive claim refunds on the higher vet bills you're being charged.
- Overall trends in the pet population
We monitor trends in the overall pet population and make adjustments to our ratings so that each pet parent pays a fair premium of the shared risk. For example, perhaps Labrador Retrievers are being treated for Hip Dysplasia more than expected. This may cause a slight increase to the amount of premium needed to safely insure all Labradors.
- Discount changes
Discounts may change or be removed due to state approvals.
