Lea Jaratz

Lea has been a contributor to Embrace's pet community and The Water Bowl for 11 years, specializing in lifestyle topics and new finds in the pet universe.

It's often said that you don't find a pet, a pet finds you. Little did Lea know that finding Lyger, a Retriever mix, in the street during a thunderstorm would change her career. Lea started her career studying animal nutrition and behavior. She served in area animal shelters as a foster care coordinator, later helping develop foster programs nationally. Her experience with pets (both foster and a few of her own) has made her the go-to-gal for many aspects of pet parenthood.

Lea enjoys exploring her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio with her family, which includes a rescued Pit Bull mix named Kayden.
