Runyon Canyon Park
2000 N Fuller Ave, Hollywood
The famous 160-acre park includes 90 acres of off-leash trails, but dogs must be leashed in paved areas and parking lots. Just know: water fountains are only available at the Vista entrance (bring your own), no restrooms, and yes, those rattlesnake signs are real. Gets packed and hot. Go early! Open sunrise to sunset.
Griffith Park Trails
4730 Crystal Springs Dr, Los Angeles, CA 90027
Amazing trails but dogs need to stay leashed. You might spot coyotes at dawn/dusk, and watch for rattlesnakes from spring through fall. You'll share trails with horses and most are friendly.
Laurel Canyon Dog Park
8260 Mulholland Dr, Studio City
Sweet 3-acre spot with separate areas for big and small dogs. Watch for foxtails May through October. Parking can be tough, closes at sunset.
