The following orthopedic waiting periods apply to pet insurance policies in AL, AK, AR, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, HI, IL, IA, KS, ME, MA, MN, NV, NJ, NM, NY, NC, ND, PA, RI, SC, SD, VT, VA.

Orthopedic Waiting Period Details

(Dogs only) For dogs, there is a 6-month waiting period for orthopedic conditions. The 6-month waiting period can be reduced if you have an exam completed after you purchase the policy, and your vet fills out the orthopedic report card that you will receive with your policy information.

*Orthopedic accidents may be subject to the full orthopedic waiting period.

(Cats only) For cats, there is also a 14-day waiting period for orthopedic conditions.
