Medical History Review

No one likes surprises - at least when it comes to their pet insurance policy. Request a medical history review to get a clear picture of how your pet's health history could impact your coverage.

For Certainty & Peace of Mind

A medical history review is completely optional. It's offered so you can feel confident in your pet's coverage. It's essentially a complete assessment of your pet's health history from an insurance perspective.

As a result of your pet's review, you'll know if your pet has any conditions that would be considered pre-existing and for how long. That way, you won't be surprised when it comes time to file a claim.

Available After You Purchase a Policy

You can request a medical history review only after you have enrolled your pet. After signup, this can be requested at any time.

We recommend a medical history review if your pet has experienced any illnesses or injuries before you purchased your policy. When in doubt, ask for a review.

How to Request a Medical History Review

After enrolling, email a medical history review request to askclaims@embracepetinsurance.com and we’ll send you an email confirmation of the request. For the review, we need detailed medical records for your pet from 12 months before your policy began, or since your pet came home with you if they are a puppy or kitten or recently adopted.

The request for medical records is sent at the end of your 14-day illness waiting period and the review begins once the records are received by Embrace.

If your pet’s review results show pre-existing conditions that impact coverage in a way that you don’t wish to continue the policy, you may cancel at any time for a partial refund of the unused premium.
