Laura Bennett

Laura worked in various actuarial roles at an insurance company in Toronto and Dublin, Ireland, for 12 years before obtaining her MBA from the Wharton School of Business, where she graduated as a Palmer and Siebel Scholar. At that time, Laura co-founded Embrace with Alex Krooglik. Laura was the first pet insurance actuary in the United States and was named to the Society of Actuaries Top 100 Actuarial Pioneers for developing the actuarial models behind the leading-edge, customizable pet insurance product. Laura was the President of NAPHIA, the North American Pet Health Insurance Association for four years, and she is currently on the Advisory Boards of Bad Girl Ventures, a nonprofit that creates opportunities for female entrepreneurs through education and access to capital, and Safeguard Guaranty Corporation, the first company in the world to offer marriage insurance. Laura loves to spend time, memorable moments, and homemade pancakes with her husband and two daughters. She also has three cats and a newly adopted dog. Laura also enjoys travelling off the beaten path, Irish whiskey, and aspiring to physical fitness.
