What is a pre-existing condition? A pre-existing condition is any injury, illness, or irregularity noticed by you or your veterinarian before the end of the waiting period, even if the pet never went to see the veterinarian for it. No pet insurance company covers pre-existing conditions. However, Embrace distinguishes between curable and incurable pre-existing conditions and covers curable conditions if pets remain symptom- and treatment-free for 12 consecutive months.
Is there a trial plan available? While Embrace Pet Insurance does not currently have a trial plan, we offer a 30-day money-back guarantee as long as no claims have been reimbursed.
What are the waiting periods? Dogs and cats have a 14-day waiting period for illnesses and a 2-day waiting period for accidents. Dogs have a 6-month waiting period for orthopedic conditions, but this can be reduced by following the Orthopedic Exam and Waiver Process.
Can pets be insured while in the breeder’s care? Puppies and kittens cannot be insured while with the breeder, they can only be insured after they are home with their owner.
When Nicole B., veterinarian, picked up her dog Harry from the breeder, she purchased a policy from Embrace Pet Insurance. She was thankful she did just a few months later when he swallowed a sock that led to surgery, infection, and complications. More than $12,000 later, Dr. Nicole recommends Embrace to everyone.
