Renewing Your Policy
Your policy at Embrace automatically renews and will keep your pets covered each year as long as your premium is paid. You don't need to worry about lapses in coverage or conditions becoming pre-existing.
For your convenience we automatically bill your payment method on file. We always e-mail you notice in advance so there are no surprises.
Before Your Policy Renews
Two to four weeks before your policy is due to renew you will receive:
- A renewal quote via e-mail that shows your renewal premium;
- A copy of the Embrace terms & conditions for your renewal policy.
We will automatically renew your policy unless you notify us via e-mail or phone that you wish to make changes or not renew your policy.
The Day Your Policy Renews
On the day that your policy renews you will receive via e-mail:
- A new and revised Certificate of Insurance;
- A copy of the Embrace terms & conditions for your renewal policy;
- A new pre-filled Embrace Claim Form.
Premium Changes at Renewal
The renewal quote email will explain any premium changes to you. There are two main reasons for premium increases:
Additionally, there may be changes in premium based on overall trends in the pet population.
What Embrace Won't Do at Renewal
Embrace will not increase your premium because you claimed or based on the health status of your pet.
Embrace will not drop your pet at a certain age.
How Your Coverage Works
At renewal, your policy annual maximums and deductibles re-set, which means your annual maximum start afresh and your annual deductible applies once again.
Claims are paid based on the date of treatment, not the date of submission, so if you have some flexibility about upcoming treatments, you might think about whether you want the treatment to fall in this coverage period or the next.
You have 90 days to submit claims after the treatment date, once your renewal has occurred.
What About My Rewards Program?
If you selected our optional Wellness Rewards plan it will re-set at renewal. If your pet is due for routine treatments, you may want to schedule the treatment after the renewal, if you’ve already maxed out this year’s benefits. On the flip side, if you’ve still got Rewards allowance left, now might be the time to get your pet to the vet to use up your remainder.
You have 90 days from the renewal to submit rewards claims from the prior term.
