Being Green
We are very keen at Embrace to keep our impact on the environment to a minimum. Here are a few ways we do that:
- Running a Paperless Office
Insurance is notorious for the amount of paper that is shuffled around from desk to desk, from our office to your home – and back! So not only are we saving the environment by relying on electronic documents for 99% of our policies, but it also saves everyone time and effort. Nice! And we just sold our only 2 upright filing cabinets as they were taking up space in our office for nothing. When we say paperless, we really mean it. - Recycling Paper
While our office is paperless, there are just some times when we cannot get away without using paper. So when we print materials for our veterinary partners, for example, we do it on recycled paper and we ask for permission to send the materials first – no point sending it to be thrown in the garbage the minute it gets in the door. - Working from Home
While coming into the office is always fun at Embrace (you never know which dog or cat is going to be sitting on your chair when you get in), we can also work from home with our laptops, saving gas, commuter stress, and laundry costs (no-one knows you are still in your pajamas when you are at home).
And needless to say, we keep the office thermostat down in the winter and up in the summer, and we recycle our cardboard boxes, aluminum cans and plastic containers. Every little bit helps....even double-sided printing when we can.
