Megan Isom, RVT
Start date: October 2012
What is your background?
I have a B.S. in Special Education, and an Associates in Veterinary Technology. I worked at an awesome pasta/pizza shop through college that helped largely with my cooking skills – and then several years at a general practice veterinary hospital in Columbus before moving to Cleveland. I came here to work with the oncology team at a Specialty/Emergency veterinary hospital in town, and then found my path to Embrace!
Do you have any pets currently?
Cats! I am a cat girl. I have an extraordinarily gorgeous tabby named Gilligan (who is perfect in every way), and a 3-legged cutie pie tabby named Otto (who is the sweetest, cutest, and most innocently mischievous boy around). I also take care of my dad’s cat and my brother’s long-forgotten turtles.
What is your favorite pet-related memory?
When my Gilligan was younger, he would race from window to window – all evening – to watch wildlife and whatever else was outside. It was so funny to watch him trot (as he is far too elegant to perpetually “run”) back and forth, and crash through the blinds to get there if there was something particularly exciting going on. He had a very full schedule.
What’s your favorite thing about Embrace?
My co-workers (both 2-legged and 4-legged ones). I also love what a great company we are, internally and externally – I’m so proud to be a part of this team!
What do you like to do in your free time?
Reading, zumba classes, wineries, family/friend time, church activities, watching fave shows (The Mindi Project, Modern Family, and The Office).
What is your favorite quote?
“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” - Jane Goodall
Anything else we should know about you?
I wish salted caramel mochas were available all year round.
