What is your background?
I have always had a passion for animals. I have been in the veterinary field going on 13 years. I started working in the field when I was 16 years old as a Veterinarian Assistant. I have worked as a Veterinary Technician in a fast-paced emergency and critical care department for most of my career and loved being able to help pets and their families.
Do you have any pets currently?
I have a cat, Mr. Dizzle, who doesn't know he is a cat; he thinks he is a human.
I also have a Chihuahua Pomeranian mix, Fuego, who I rescued after he was victim to a house fire. He was blind when I got him from the fire, but has since regained his sight. I named him Fuego because it means fire in Spanish. He has certainly lived up to his name because he is a little fireball with a lot of spunk.
What is your favorite pet-related memory?
When I was younger we had a Golden Retriever named Lucky. If you gave him a bone he would bury it. He once thought he was being clever and dropped it in the deep end of our pool as an attempt to bury it. We had to fish it out after his many attempts to swim to the bottom of the pool. He found new places to bury his bones after that.
What’s your favorite thing about Embrace?
The wonderful people I work with. I also love the core values that Embrace lives by. Everyone is here for one common goal, and that is to help pet parents afford excellent care for their furry babies.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love spending time with my family. I have an amazing little boy, who is two, and a wonderful husband. We are constantly outdoors and spend most of our time at the beach during the summer months, which luckily in Florida is about 10 months out of the year!
