Kristin HappKristin Happ

Territory Outreach Representative
Start date: November 2013

What is your background?
I graduated with honors from California State University, Fullerton with my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. Having had over 3 years experience working as a Veterinary Technician upon graduation, I decided to pursue a career in the animal health industry. Before joining Embrace Pet Insurance as a Veterinary Account Representative, I held positions as a National Accounts Representative for a premium pet food line, a Pet Hospital Field Trainer for the largest privately owned chain of animal hospitals in the United States, and as a Territory Representative for a pet products distributor in Southern California.

Do you have any pets currently?
I have a super squishy and handsome French Bulldog that goes by “The Dude!” He is the sweetest, happiest, and smartest little guy! He is currently in training to become a registered therapy animal. He absolutely adores children, and I think he would be very well suited to volunteer his love and kisses to children needing their spirits lifted while they are in the hospital.

What is your favorite pet-related memory?
My favorite pet-related memory has to be the day that I saw a picture of my dog’s face online. I had seen many pictures before him, but none had the characteristic sweetness that he did! I didn’t know if he was a boy or a girl, but I didn’t care… I knew he was mine! It just so happened that when I went to see him in person, he had the best personality, and was the calm, quiet, sleepy little guy out of the bunch! It was simply meant to be!

What’s your favorite thing about Embrace?
I appreciate the fact that Embrace’s core values align well with mine, in that we place great significance on the health and well-being of animals!

What do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy spending time outdoors in beautiful Southern California! Anything by the beach, hiking a new trail, or perhaps even standup paddle boarding or kayaking on a lagoon! Every day is a vacation if you are lucky enough to call San Diego your home, and I intend to not waste that precious gift!

What is your favorite quote?
“I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and dog-gone it, people like me!” – Stuart Smalley, Saturday Night Live

Anything else we should know about you?
Though completely irrelevant, people are often quite tickled to learn that I can wiggle my ears. For many years, I thought everyone could do it!
