Contact Center Manager
Start date: May 2012
What is your background?
I have a degree in Psychology from Notre Dame College of Ohio. I was an Assistant Manager at Half Price Books, Records and Magazines for 12 years. I stage managed professionally for 12 years (while I was in college and while I worked at Half Price Books).
Do you have any pets currently?
Sabrina Von Squishy, 14 year old Domestic Shorthair Squishball
What is your favorite pet-related memory?
Every memory relating to my cat is my favorite, but I also tamed Ken the Vicious Bite Hamster who lived at Embrace before I started working here. His name was Shirley, he was actually a girl, and he bit everyone, so no one liked to take him out or play with him. I got here and decided to rename him Ken, and I think he liked me, because he started letting me take him out and pet him. He became very social and he stopped biting! Ken’s cage was next to my desk and he would come out of his house when I’d come in and say his name in the morning, and he also learned how to “high five” when I put my finger up to a space in the cage, and he would take his little paw and high five my finger.
What’s your favorite thing about Embrace?
I love everything about Embrace, but I REALLY love that people bring their pets to work!
What do you like to do in your free time?
I read a lot, see a lot of theater, try to pet all the animals I can find, and I write a blog and keep up a website.
What is your favorite quote?
“For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much—the wheel, New York, wars and so on—whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man—for precisely the same reasons.” Douglas Adams from The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.
