Amanda (Mandy Lou) Collins, RVT
Start date: August 2013
What is your background?
I grew up in a small Village in southern Ohio. I grew up surrounded by animals, my parents always had multiple cats and dogs from the time I was a baby. I’ve always been a pet parent, and I always will. I enjoy taking care of animals, which ultimately led to my career choice in life. I received my Veterinary Technology degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2009, and in 2013 I completed the Certified Medical Biller program at Cuyahoga Community College. I also have 5 years experience working in small animal general practice.
Do you have any pets currently?
Of course, I’m a crazy cat lady! Ellis Dee, Foster, Salem, Sabbath, Who, Bayne, Dakota, Smokey, Rusty, Dart, Shadow-all DSH cats. Then of course Zeke, my 5 year old mixed breed pup.
What is your favorite pet-related memory?
The years I spent competing on my horse Lightly Sonny.
What’s your favorite thing about Embrace?
The level of genuine compassion and dedication all Embracers have for the company and what we do.
What do you like to do in your free time?
In my free-time I enjoy watching movies, going to shows, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and trying new restaurants.
Anything else we should know about you?
I also have a Fine Arts-Music degree and enjoy painting. I have donated 4 pieces to animal related art charity events in the past year and hope to continue to do so in the future.
