Optional Pre-certification Buys Peace of Mind
Although it sounds painful, we've designed our pre-certification process to be really easy for you. When your veterinarian is considering a course of treatment and you're not sure whether your policy covers it or you want to know how much you might get back, pre-certification gives you that peace of mind.
Remember, pre-certification is optional. You or your veterinarian can pursue any course of treatment without pre-certifying but if you want to know beforehand if a certain treatment will be covered and how much reimbursement you can expect, you can pre-certify and rest easy.
Another advantage of pre-certification is that we get to assess your real claim when it comes in much more rapidly because we're already prepared for it.
Don't Tell Me I Have To Fill Out Tons of Paperwork
Not at all, it's actually really simple and painless.
With Embrace's pre-certification process, you and your veterinarian fill out a one-page form that briefly describes what your veterinarian is proposing to do and approximately how much it will cost. Fax or mail it in to Embrace and we'll let you know via e-mail within 10 business days whether the treatment is approved or not and approximately how much we will reimburse.
When to Pre-certify
We recommend you pre-certify any treatment that falls within one of the following categories:
- a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan
- a computer-aided tomography (CAT) scan
- a partial or complete hip replacement
- home visits because your pet is unable to travel to your veterinarian's office
- any time the anticipated costs of a course of treatment are expected to go over $1,000
Pre-certifications makes sure that you won't receive any surprises when it comes to your claim.
